It’s a Monday, after a weekend filled with protests across the nation. Some stopped traffic, some caused other delays, and there were unnecessary arrests of protestors, as well as unnecessary violence towards police. But for the most part, most Americans of all races and professions agree: We’ve got to do something about the systemic racial & economic injustice in America, and we’ve got to learn to put ourselves, metaphorically, in the shoes of our fellow Americans who are different than we are.
Not surprisingly, President Obama and Hillary Clinton both said similar things all weekend long. What was surprising was that potential GOP VP pick and former Speaker Newt Gingrich seems to agree with Clinton and Obama on this point – a position he credits to knowing and being informed by his friend, Van Jones.
In a related surprise, Donald Trump’s campaign noted that he may be interested in retired General Michael Flynn, who – over the weekend – announced that he believes women should have the right to choose abortion.
And speaking of Trump, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, in an interview over the weekend, said if Trump is elected, she’s moving to New Zealand.
The Notorious RBG should remain in America – so let’s not let that happen, ok?
