The universe’s Department of Metaphor never sleeps. This week the Congress certifies the election of someone who, later this week, will be sentenced—albeit gently—on 34 felony counts. While we mark the week of the anniversary of an armed insurrection, the president continues to float pardons for the insurrectionists.
